PENN is a typical playful beagle... with a typically huge beagle voice that he thoroughly enjoys using!

He is housetrained & okay on a leash. Except for mealtime, Penn isnt fond of crates & his rather opinionated arroooo-ing over all sorts of "important" matters would probably get him in trouble with close neighbors, so no apartments please    Cats are fun to sniff & chase, but a dog-savvy cat might be OK.   People of all types are awesome, especially little ones & anyone who have food bowls or snacks to share.

Penn loves to run, so will do best in a home with a fenced yard or local dog park where he can exercise & explore. Toys toys, more toys, & lots of ear rubs are at the top of his wishlist.   A dog buddy would be fantastic, but is willing to consider life as single dog for the right family.

If you think PENN is the dog for you, please fill out an adoption application today!

PENN is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore.

An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link --  https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption

Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt.   The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit.

PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!
