Momma Molly is a sweet beagle mix girl who came to K9-ES from a large scale neglect situation via one of our shelter partners.   She was one of only 6 lucky dogs (3 adults, 3 tiny pups) whose extreme medical or behavioral condition did not require humane euthanasia at the shelter.

K9-ES pulled all 6 dogs.... 4 of who have been adopted (Pearl, Yeager, Valentina, & Harriet), 1 developed renal failure & passed while in rescue care (Pebbles).   Molly remains with us in foster care.  However, we have chosen to make her a sanctuary/sponsorship case.

Why?  Quite simply, Molly came to us feral.  She was never taught many of the basic dog-dog, dog-human, & general life skills most pets seem to come by automatically.  A mirror was a window & she desperately sought escape.  Sounds of normal home life caused fear -- a microwave beeping, a door closing or toilet flushing.  Human touch terrified her.  Living indoors, flea-free & well fed was just not something she felt she was entitled to... or even knew existed.

Molly has made HUGE strides & is loving life in rescue. Unfortunately, many of her quirks remain & we believe she is unlikely to make a successful transition to 99% of potential adoptive homes.

What does it mean to sponsor a dog?
-----
Sponsoring a dog is a great way to help dogs lucky enough to be in a foster home.   Even though you're not adopting, you still receive the joy of knowing you helped provide care for the animal(s) you choose to sponsor.

Sponsoring allows you to make a tax-deductible donation, which helps to cover medical costs and on-going expenses of caring for the pet.   You can make a one-time contribution or establish reoccurring donations that will help throughout the year – whichever suits you!
