Zeus is a handsome, very lovable and highly intelligent fella who's former owner surrendered him to animal control. Thankfully, we were able to come to Zeus's aid when he needed us the most! He seems to know he has been given a much deserved second chance. Zeus thanks his foster family daily by showering them with love.  

We have been working with Zeus to further his training and he is making great strides! Because Zeus needs to maintain a balance by burning off energy daily, a fenced yard or a more active individual that will commit to daily walks and/or runs would be ideal. Zeus has mastered several commands with ease in an impressively short period of time to include sit, lay and paw.

Zeus also has made great progress with his leash training and crate trained with ease. He gets along well with other dogs, both larger and smaller than himself. Children ages 10+ are recommended due to Zeus's size and energy level. He approaches cats with great curiosity and is respectful of cats that are savvy with dogs. We believe that he would adjust well with a cat in the home; however, time and patience to establish boundaries between them may be necessary.

 NOTE (for those over 65) -- As part of the application process, K9-ES asks that you provide a back up caretaker. Dogs are family & we want a human family member to step-up to take your new best friend in the event you are no longer able to care for him/her.... not for the dog to find themselves homeless once again in their declining years.

We all know that life happens, so those under the age of 65 are also highly encouraged to think about a back-up plan for your animals BEFORE you potentially find yourself unable to care for them.

On the application, there is a "comments" section where you can list the backups name, email address and phone number. Please fill that in as completely & specifically as possible.

Zeus is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore.
